Concrete and Abstract Nouns

Nouns can be concrete or abstract

Concrete nouns are real things and you can experience them with your five senses.  (Five senses: see, smell, hear, touch and taste)  The definition of a concrete noun is a word for an object that is a person, place or thing.

Abstract nouns are things that you cannot see or touch, like wisdom and charity.  You cannot use your five senses with abstract nouns.   Abstract nouns are things, like feelings, state of being, ideas, concepts and qualities.
